In simplest terms, this is an AI training manual. You’re essentially teaching your AI platform (I prefer Claude) all about your brand, business, offers, ideas, voice, audience, preferences, and more, so that it can create content that sounds like you.
If all you did was feed AI a simple prompt along with a sentence or two about your brand, the output is going to be less than stellar. Because instead of creating something unique to you and your brand, it’s relying on information fed to it by other people. So instead of your voice, it’s a jumble of a thousand other voices.
This resource helps ensure all of the content, copy, and ideas you get sound like you, align with your values, speak to your audience, and help you achieve your intended goals.
I hope it goes without saying, but this resource is not a replacement for you or any other human. It is a tool. Just like social media, email, editing software, and other tools we each use every single day to make our lives easier.
This resource only works as hard as you do. What I mean by that is, the more detailed, specific, and “on-brand” you are, the better the output.
To get the most out of this resource, take your time filling it out. Be detailed. Be specific. Be honest. Share good examples of your voice and work. Be willing to refine the output with the provided troubleshooting prompts and your “human touch.” And most importantly, continue to update this document as you and your Buddy get better acquainted.
Q: Which AI platform should I use?
A: I prefer Claude over GPT or any other available platform. However, use the one you prefer and feel the most comfortable with.
Q: Do I need Claude pro?
A: No, not necessarily. However, if you plan on using this resource regularly, I think it’s worth upgrading to pro. You get more messages each day and priority access during peak hours. Regardless of if you use the free or pro version, opt for Sonnet or Opus (not Haiku).
Q: What if the output isn’t giving me what I want?
A: If you’re not getting quality material, I would.. check that you have fully filled out your document with honest and detailed answers, double-check that you’ve provided your AI platform with enough examples of your voice across different platforms (socials, email, web), make sure you’re either in the same chat or re-feeding the doc each time you ask a prompt, and finally—tap into the provided troubleshooting prompts to help refine the output.
